COFFS Harbour Men’s Shed will present its 2026 Exhibition, opening on Friday 31 January from 5pm to 7.30pm at The Art Space in Urunga.
The exhibition is supported by Faircloth and Reynolds and runs until 15 February.
Men’s Shed President Robert Houston said the inaugural exhibition was a chance for members to showcase their work at the shed, including wood and metal sculptures and other one-off arts and crafts.
“Everyone who comes to the shed is a volunteer, doing it for their mental health, friendship and community spirit,” Mr Houston said.
“This is a fundraiser that supports the shed and will help keep it financially viable.”
One of the exhibition’s organisers, Urunga Art Space volunteer Rachael Naylor, said about 80 items would be on exhibit and available for purchase.
Items can also be ordered and custom made.
“There’s some really cool and funny stuff,” Ms Naylor said.
“It’s mostly made from recycled metals and timbers, repurposing and reusing things that would otherwise be thrown out, so there’s a great environmental angle.”
The exhibition will include woodworks such as handcrafted toys, jewellery and keepsake boxes, bowls, clocks, rocking horses, furniture and lots more.
It will also feature a range of odd, interesting and unusual works from the mind of Coffs Harbour heavy metal artist Mick Maley, whose creations spring forth from old car parts, spanners, taps, forks, cogs, sprockets, chains and meat grinders.
