IT’S taken a few attempts but Cameron Pollard can now say he’s won a Brown & Hurley Men’s Club Championship at the Coffs Harbour Golf Club.
And in the club’s historic Centenary Year to boot.
“I’ve been runner-up a few times so it’s nice to finally get one,” Pollard said.
After four rounds, the right hander claimed victory by 10 strokes ahead of Aden Louez with Logan Toms a further shot back in third.
It was a wire-to-wire victory with a tremendous opening round setting up Pollard’s win.
“It helps when your first round sets it up,” the 27-year-old said.
“I shot a 3-under on the first day. A couple of 72’s then a 74 to finish, it was very nice to finish like that.”
Andrew Rodway was the nett winner in A Grade as well as the senior champion.
Peter Brandster had a memorable two weeks taking out the B Grade Championships.
Brandster finished three strokes ahead of Pop Johnson followed by Paul Mealey.
The nett title was won by Nick Ling.
Jake Creenaune won the club’s junior club championship but didn’t quite win the B Grade nett category finishing just behind both Ling and Mark Davidson.
Adam Brett was the C Grade winner ahead of Steve Ashdown and Ian Saunders.
The nett prizes in C Grade went to Joe Moran, Will Randall and Aaron Jamieson.
