IT’S fantastic to report that this year’s Coffs Coast Mayoral Ball on 15 August is officially a sellout.
It’s even better to note that the annual ball – as a fundraiser for Coffs Kids – has led to more than $65,000 worth of equipment and resources being donated to Coffs Harbour Health Campus, supporting children and families who access care across maternity, paediatrics and specialist newborn services.
The donation includes important clinical equipment such as bilirubin machines, ophthalmoscopes, breast pumps, an Airvo3 respiratory support system, and monitoring kits with cardiac screening functions to support care for newborns as well as comfort and support packs for young people in out-of-home care, paediatric physiotherapy equipment, distraction therapy resources, portable measuring devices and playtime toys.
If you missed out on tickets to this year’s ball, you can still support Coffs Kids by purchasing tickets in our raffle, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs. Find out more at https://mayoralballcoffscoast.com.au/auction-raffle/
Coffs Harbour’s NAIDOC Week celebrations went next level last week. Australian Idol winner Royston Noell had people dancing in Riding Lane as he belted out five great tracks.
Congratulations to all the winners of the Yandaarra Aunty Grace Roberts Community Awards.
Shoutout also for the 11 local businesses, attractions and experiences named as finalists in the 2026 North Coast Regional Tourism Awards. It’s massive to have so many local operators named as being among the best of the best.
The winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony at Pacific Bay Resort on 30 July.
Finally, it’s great to see the City partner with Payble – a flexible digital payment platform that helps households spread rates and water charge bills into smaller, regular instalments.
Payble allows ratepayers to set up automatic payments from their bank account, credit or debit card, choose weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments, and receive SMS reminders before payments are due.
Look for the details about this innovative bill-smoothing option in the first rates notice of the new financial year.
Nikki Williams,
Mayor, City of Coffs Harbour.
