THE Coffs Harbour Snappers bounced back from their loss against Kempsey with a season-defining win over a strong Grafton outfit last Saturday.
The Snappers and Grafton Redmen were locked at 12-all at halftime with Snappers claiming a 31-19 victory at fulltime.
Snappers captain Jonah Colburn got the locals off to a great start when he carried three defenders over the try line. Grafton hit back with two tries of their own before the flying Fijian Dan Yaya added another spectacular try to his highlights reel.
Taj Butcher came on in the second half and stamped his authority with a hat-trick of tries.
Best for Snappers were Angus Cheetham, Charlie Oates, Freddy Ralulu and Taj Butcher.
The mighty reserve grade snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to win 32-31. Cooper Blinman nailed a late penalty goal to seal the victory.

The Grafton women outclassed the Snappers ladies in all facets of play to record their third win against the Snappers. The Grafton women showed why they are undefeated and it’s back to the drawing board for the Snappers coaches to work out a plan to topple the ladder-leaders when they meet in the major semifinal on 29 August.
The Snappers’ best among the ladies were Ash Downton, Mikaylah Miller and Sienna Nielsen.
The Snappers will travel to Port Macquarie this weekend to take on the Hastings Valley Vikings in 1st grade and reserve grade. The women have the bye.
Saturday was a most successful day, with the Snappers hosting Ladies Day plus Old Boys Day.
Past players travelled from across the country to celebrate and reminisce during the club’s annual get-together.
