THE National Director of the Family First party Lyle Shelton will be doing a public meeting and book launch 2pm Saturday 26 September Cavanbah Centre 191 Harbour Drive Coffs Harbour.
The high-profile conservative lobbyist has been involved in political activism for more than 25 years, and will be standing for a seat in the Legislative Council at the upcoming NSW election next March.
In Turn the Tide, Shelton poses the question, why has the Church stepped back from the public square—just when truth, family, the unborn and freedom are under threat?
The mission of the Church was never meant to stop on Sunday—or at “saving souls”, according to his advocacy, claiming the Christian mandate is about transforming the world.
“The tide can be turned and the nations can be saved but only if the Church refrains from staying silent about the critical issues of this generation,” Mr Shelton said.
Lyle Shelton’s Turn the Tide is intended as a wake-up call for Australian Christians.
The book documents the past 10 years of what Shelton claims is a ‘cultural decline’.
It is a lamentation on the silence of church leaders and the compromise of Christian politicians that has exacerbated the current malaise.
In a passionate plea to his brothers and sisters in Christ, Mr Shelton challenges them to mobilise the outworking of their Christian convictions.
