A TRIO of Coffs Coast girls have proven to be among Australia’s finest in Sport Aerobics.
The B Wild Fitness & Sport Aerobics athletes achieved top-three results at the recent Federation of International Sports, Aerobics and Fitness (FISAF) Australia Sport Aerobics National Championships on the Gold Coast.
The dynamic duo of Ella Gibson and Harriet Rampling finished third in the country in the Phase 2 Cadet Elementary Pairs event.
Ella and Harriet also combined with Suzie Hay to finish third in the Phase 2 Cadet Small Teams event.
Their coach Brooklyn Leonard explained what made the three girls among the best in Australia.
“Their synchronization together, they really know how to connect on stage,” she said.
“Rather than three individuals on the stage, they work as one, and because they have been performing together all year, they know each other’s moves.
“They are all very strong-minded and very independent individuals, and they don’t need me to tell them what to do all the time.
“They are naturals, and it didn’t take them long to pick up the skills.”
The proud coach was pleasantly surprised at their top performances.
“Because Nationals is so tough and the standard is so high, it’s not a shock, more of a ‘wow they did it’,” she said.
“I’m over the moon with all of them, they performed so well, and it’s such an improvement from last year.
“They put in an incredible amount of work, so it’s a reward for that.”
