The Circus art exhibition, showing at the Showground Art Gallery and Studios

BIG tops, clowns, trapeze artists and a dog being fired from a cannon all feature in the artworks currently showing at the Coffs Harbour Creative Arts Group (CHCAG) new exhibition, titled The Circus.

The vibrant and captivating exhibition opened by the Club President, Sue Roberts, on Sunday 11 October at Coffs Showground Art Gallery and Studios.

Ms Roberts, in welcoming the members and visitors to the opening, remarked on the amazing colourful artworks that embraced The Circus theme.

“It is great seeing our members participate in these exhibitions to showcase their creativity,” she said.

The winner of the People’s Choice award from the previous member’s exhibition All Creatures Great and Small was announced and this went to Maxine Kohlhagen for her coloured-pencil piece titled The Watchful One.

The Showground Art Gallery and Studios holds many exhibitions throughout the year featuring work

by the members.

Coming up from Saturday 21 November will be a solo exhibition showcasing the work of long-time member, Ken Pay.

“Ken has frequently contributed his beautiful artworks to our exhibitions over the years and it is fitting for CHCAG to present a collection of his pieces,” Ms Roberts said.

The final exhibition for 2026 will be the Student and Workshop Exhibition.

This exhibition will showcase work completed by students attending workshops and classes throughout the year.

Workshops and classes are regularly offered at the Showground Art Gallery and Studios for members

and non-members.

The current The Circus exhibition will continue until November 18.

The gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
