LETTER: Should we axe Question Time or expect better behaviour from elected representatives

LETTER: Should we axe Question Time or expect better behaviour from elected representatives

SO our local representative Pat Conaghan thinks one of the measures that needs to be taken to take the heat out of political discourse is to get rid of Question Time.

Good grief; he can’t be serious, surely?

What is required, Pat, is for you and your colleagues to behave with dignity and decorum.

Can you imagine someone with the dignity of Helen Haines or David Pockock behaving like some of the loud-mouth bullies we constantly see when watching parliamentary proceedings?

Can I suggest that, instead of voicing outrage when someone turns up to Parliament not wearing a tie, you save your lectures for those who can’t or won’t behave in a mature and dignified manner when representing us?

Regards,
Bruce Weir,
Coffs Harbour.
