Pink Ladies hit $362,000 in donations to Coffs Harbour Health Campus

COFFS Harbour Pink Ladies have donated more than $362,000 in patient comfort items and medical equipment to Coffs Harbour Health Campus, just in the past financial year.

The funds have been used to buy multiple pieces of equipment including two ultrasound machines, two ventilators, a colposcope and camera, three self-propelled wheelchairs and a power stacking concealment trolley.

The bulk of the money is raised through the Pink Ladies’ popular cafés at the hospital and the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute, with additional proceeds from the Pink Ladies Gift Shop and their patient trolley service.

“Throughout the year the commitment, kindness and strength of this wonderful group of people has never wavered,” outgoing President Leigh Galbraith said.

“I’m inspired by the generosity and compassion that our wonderful volunteers bring to the hospital every day.

“Most days there are eight Pink Ladies volunteers working at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus, not forgetting the hours spent behind the scenes by committee members.”

Mid North Coast Local Health District Corporate Relations Coordinator Tiffany Ball said, “The Pink Ladies are an amazing group of volunteers who band together to give back to the local community by ensuring our hospital is well supported.”

The figure was announced at the Pink Ladies recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) where key leadership changes were also announced.

Ms Galbraith has stepped down as President, with Helen Mears OAM returning to the role after serving as Vice President for the past 12 months.

Linda Friend was re-elected as Treasurer and long-serving Pink Lady Heather Hardwick will continue as Secretary.
