FOLLOWING a sold-out opening concert, “Celebrating The Seekers – 60 Years” with Keith Potger, Sunday Sounds returns to the City of Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Memorial Theatre with another afternoon of music steeped in nostalgia, storytelling and connection.
On Sunday 26 April at 2pm, acclaimed musician and writer Dorian Mode and his trio bring to the stage “What the World Needs Now”, a heartfelt tribute to the enduring partnership of Burt Bacharach and Hal David.
Dorian’s connection to this music began early, inspired by a childhood concert experience that sparked a lifelong admiration for Bacharach’s sophisticated compositions and David’s deeply expressive lyrics.
In this carefully curated performance, Dorian reimagines a catalogue of classics that continue to resonate across decades.
Audiences can expect beloved hits such as “Walk On By,” “This Guy’s in Love With You,” and “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” alongside lesser-known treasures that reveal the depth of this remarkable songwriting partnership.
A multi award-winning artist, Dorian Mode brings both musical excellence and engaging storytelling to the stage. His performances are known for their warmth, wit and insight, offering audiences not just a concert, but a rich and personal journey through the music.
As with every Sunday Sounds event, the experience extends beyond the performance.
Guests are invited to stay for complimentary afternoon tea, creating space to reflect, connect and share in the joy of music together.
Sunday Sounds continues to offer a welcoming and uplifting way to spend a Sunday afternoon, where timeless songs and shared memories take centre stage.
