DEAR News Of The Area,
AS a manager in an insurance company, I was required to visit repairers doing repairs for us. I recall once sitting on a milk crate in the driveway of a panel shop in Western Sydney whilst a man called Allan brewed Türkiye coffee.
The coffee was handed to me in a little porcelain cup, more like a small bowl, cracked from age and brightly coloured with Persian design.
Allan I would say was in his 70s, stocky, with a belly and an unkept grey beard.
He was softly spoken and very respectful.
I could have been in another country; this is Australia.
Regards,
Colin HUTTON,
Thora
