DEAR News Of The Area,
IN TERMS of looking after its own, Coffs Harbour fails miserably as it becomes too expensive, with the very people who built it now struggling or being pushed out.
The high cost-of-living worldwide takes much of the blame but it should not absolve local bad leadership or play into hands of political mischief.
If we behave like sheep in not thinking or fact finding, then we deserve to be treated like sheep.
The sheep believes that the farmer has its best interest at heart when on the truck to the abattoir.
Greed reveals itself in the wider world, such as when Trump declares Greenland or Canada for the USA, as Putin takes parts of Ukraine, Netanyahu takes Lebanon or Palestine and Xi Ping threatens Taiwan.
In our world, we have One Nation or even the National Party’s lies during the Voice referendum.
The tendency to rely on the easy way out will be our downfall, with mental dependency mushrooming out of proportion in the world of technology and a reliance on AI.
Let us make efforts to be more human in our interactions and avoid becoming silos.
Join groups which address issues of importance like Foreshores for All, the Salvos, or support First Nations projects fostering harmony and respect.
Kind regards,
Jay RUTHNAM,
Sapphire Beach.
