CanDo fundraising at Woolgoolga

THE bowling greens were overflowing at 2026 CanDo Cancer Trust Charity Bowls Day held recently at C.ex Woolgoolga.

This popular annual event, organised by the Coffs Coast Freemasons Association, raised a whopping $12,800.

This included a $6000 donation from Masonicare, the charitable arm of the NSW Freemasons, and $1000 from the Woolgoolga Lions.

The CanDo Cancer Trust is a Coffs Coast-based volunteer group that provides financial assistance to patients and families attending the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute.

“This event is supported by local and interstate bowlers,” said organiser Carolyn Boyden.

“We also attracted lots of novice bowlers, including a large contingent from the Woolgoolga Silver Salties and the local Masonic Lodges.

“Everyone gets into the spirit and this year colourful team shirts brightened the greens.

“It is an event where locals can help locals and have a ton of fun at the same time.”
