RECIPIENTS of the City of Coffs Harbour’s 2026/27 Community Infrastructure Renewal grants have been announced, with eight of the 11 applicants receiving some funding towards their nominated venture.
The $150,000 fund is open to not-for-profits seeking to construct new public facilities or refurbish existing infrastructure on City-owned or managed land.
In line with the assessment criteria, renewal projects are prioritised over new capital works.
“Congratulations to all of the successful applicants who were encouraged to put forward projects which clearly deliver a strong benefit to the community,” Mayor Nikki Williams said.
Requests for funding were submitted through an application process and assessed by an independent panel, based on merit and how they stacked up against the program’s eligibility criteria.
City Chief Financial Officer Amy Mott said the 11 applicants had sought a total of $409,975 from the program, so in many instances reduced funding had been recommended in order to support a greater number of initiatives.
Successful projects adopted:
Coffs Coast Meals on Wheels, $60,000, to re-establish the Sawtell Meals on Wheels service from 25 Elizabeth Street, Sawtell;
Coffs Coast Tigers Football Club, $15,000, to supply and install a solar system including battery at Polwarth Drive Soccer Fields;
Coffs Community and Volunteer Centre, $9,000, for the internal painting of community and volunteer spaces at Blocks A and F at the Coffs Harbour Community Village;
Coffs Regional Community Gardens, $10,000, for a refurbishment of the Garden Meeting Place, transforming the meeting space into a camp kitchen-style facility;
Gamumbi Early Childhood Education Centre Inc, $7,000, for the replacement of fencing around the playground and the relocation of the emergency exit gate;
NSW Basketball Association Ltd, $17,000, for the installation of compliant wall padding on courts 1 and 2 at Sportz Central;
Westside Tennis Club, $12,000, for the upgrade of an existing concrete slab into an additional pickleball court and installation of fencing around the new court at Westside Park; and;
Woolgoolga Art Group Inc, $20,000, for the renovation of the storage space, upgrade of building access, and replacement of a storage shed and the rear access stairs with a ramp and safety rail at the Woolgoolga Art Gallery.
