DONALD Trump’s Israeli-inspired war in the Middle East has given us all just a small insight into how a localised conflict can impact the Global economy and create chaos and hardship in people’s lives all over the world.
It has also revealed just how our defence alliances inadvertently drag us into unpalatable military conflicts.
In the meantime, while stock-market players are making millions off the trading floor volatility, tax-paying Aussies are financing the upgrade on our soil for the biggest US base in the Southern Hemisphere in preparation for the unthinkable war with China as the US tries to revive its domination in our part of the Pacific.
While our Government claims to champion ‘transparency’, there are countless questions regarding AUKUS that are unanswered, none of which have been debated in our Parliament or put to the people.
This situation defies the legal foundations of our very democracy. While our mainstream media focus has been on the ‘cost of living crisis’ or whether Pauline has anything to offer in terms of real change, most Aussies are unaware of the current privately sponsored AUKUS Public Inquiry into this shameful state of affairs.
