ON Thursday, 9 September 2026, in Bongil Bongil National Park, mountainbike riders were horrified to find a load of Coles-branded bread, in plastic bags, dumped at the side of a road.

Labels and use-by-dates indicated this had come from a local Coles store before sadly being dumped in native bushland.

The riders cleaned up the mess and removed all the plastic, but are concerned that Coles needs to investigate this to ensure their local environmental responsibility is met and that this never happens again.
