New cops for Coffs Coast after academy graduations

TEN new crimefighters are now serving the Coffs Coast following an attestation ceremony last week at the NSW Police Force Academy in Goulburn.

The new probationary constables began their work with the Coffs-Clarence Police District on Monday, 4 May.

“This is a great day for the Coffs Coast and an important boost to police numbers in our region,” said Coffs Harbour MP Gurmesh Singh.

“The welcome arrival of 10 more police provides reassurance to our local community which is  grappling daily with the scourge of crime.”

Mr Singh said he wishes the new probationary constables every success as they begin their policing careers.

“I thank each of them for taking on a job which they will undoubtedly find challenging, confronting and at times, dangerous, as they work to keep our community safe,” Mr Singh said.

“Because police can not be everywhere, they need our help in tackling crime.

“That’s why it’s crucial we remain vigilant and security-conscious, and report all criminal activity to the police.”
