THE City of Coffs Harbour has released its annual report, which paints a very positive picture of the city’s performance in the 2024-25 financial year.

Mayor Nikki Williams said, “From cover to cover, this document details our unwavering commitment to ratepayers.”

“The highlights reel for this period includes the opening of the Woolgoolga Whale Trail, the redevelopment of Brelsford Park, the new Nature Discovery Centre at the Botanic Garden, and record nominations for the Yandaarra Aunty Grace Roberts Community Awards.

“It also explores the strong visitation at sport and cultural community facilities.

“That includes the hugely popular Swell Chasers surf exhibition at Yarrila Arts Museum (YAM) and the start of a three-year partnership with rugby to bring elite level entertainment to Coffs.”

The report highlights a range of infrastructure works, from road and bridge renewals through to flood resilience initiatives.

Acting General Manager Andrew Beswick, said the full replacement of the Boambee Creek footbridge, lifeguard tower renewals and the attractive and structurally important revetment wall and boardwalk at Englands Park, Coffs Creek, were notable achievements.

He also cited the milestones of a refresh of the MyCoffs 2035 Community Strategic Plan and the development of a new four-year Delivery Program.

“This is important planning for the way ahead for our community, and it is underscored by our commitment to maintain a balanced and sustainable financial position.”

Mr Beswick said that adoption of the Resource and Waste Strategy 2025-41 gives the City a clear long-term direction for sustainable waste management, which will embed the principles of a circular economy in its approach to waste minimisation,

Mayor Williams said the emergence of the Wiigulga Sports Complex was another green shoot for the community.

“It’s fantastic to see Wiigulga continuing to gain momentum as a key regional venue”.

The colourful report provides summaries and graphics to inform residents, followed by more detailed regulatory and financial information.

Performance in key areas is depicted as either “on track”, “within 20% of target” and “off track”, with respect to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The majority of areas are on track.

Volunteer contributions to the library and YAM, the Botanic Gardens, Jetty Memorial Theatre and C.ex Coffs International Stadium are acknowledged.

The detailed financial information shows that income from residential rates increased by almost six percent and parking fines by 28 percent during the financial year.

The report can be found by searching the City of Coffs Harbour website.
