Shout-out to Scott for his fabulous service

DEAR News Of The Area,

In this age of poor customer service, there is hope out there that some people still believe in the principle that good service means returning customer business.

Last week the panel blind in my bedroom collapsed due to a broken plastic lug, which held the blind in place in the steel track.

I contacted several blind retailers in the Coffs area who all told me that they didn’t repair blinds, thus I would have to purchase a new one.

I was convinced that these retailers were in the market for sales only.

One retailer I contacted, Scott of Shutters & Blinds in Coffs, turned up promptly the next morning to give me a quote on a new blind.

When I explained my dilemma to Scott, he said he would take a look at the damaged blind.

All in all he made two visits to my home that morning and fixed my blind.

I repeatedly offered to pay him for the work done but he refused to accept any payment.

In total he was at my home for approximately 90 minutes.

His reasoning for refusing to accept payment was that he had had a cancellation that morning so his time was his own.

However, I suspect that his mantra is based on his belief that the customer always comes first.

Rarely do you see this sort of customer service these days.

If I have to purchase new blinds in the future, Scott is the man I will always go to first and without doubt forward my recommendation to friends and colleagues.

If there was an award for good customer service, surely Scott and his company are most deserving.

Regards,

Roger Thain,

Coffs Harbour.
