CHRISTMAS Day 2025 saw almost 200 community members attend the Coffs Christmas Lunch 4 U (CCL4U) 2025 at the Exhibition Hall to enjoy a day of good food, entertainment, Santa and a feeling of inclusiveness.
Organisers Ange Anderson and Nick Newling designed the event to provide a welcoming, friendly environment for those who were alone or in need of a meal on Christmas day.
The feedback from guests who filled the Exhibition Hall was overwhelmingly positive with gratitude.
Leading up to the event, Ange was inundated with offers of help from people keen to volunteer on the day.
“Those who helped with the Christmas Eve set-up and food preparation, and those who assisted on Christmas Day, made the day fabulous for the over 200 community members,” Ange said.
“Some volunteers help out year after year, know the ropes, roll their sleeves up and make sure it all comes together.
“Some first-time CCL4U volunteers this year stepped up and fitted in so well that it felt like they had been there for years.
“It seems each year gets busier and bigger, but Coffs wrap their arms around us and make it possible.”
Nick made special mention to Maree Sanders, business owner of Mmm Aunty’s Coffee, who jumped on board and provided free brewed coffee, reported to be “delicious.”
“Maree’s generosity was amazing, and we hope to see her at CCL4U 2026.”
Ange added, “Hosting the Coffs Christmas Lunch 4 U event is a privilege.
“We are happy with it going off so seamlessly, with the band of volunteers and support from businesses, Council and individuals.
“We wish everyone a happy, healthy 2026 and hope the kindness shown to CCL4U community members continues throughout the year.”
Major sponsors for this year’s event included Faircloth & Reynolds, Daybreak Rotary, Pacific City Lions Club, C.ex Coffs, TCA technologies, City of Coffs Harbour, The Provedores, Spare Chef Catering, Big Country Meats, The Hoey Moey and Bananacoast Hotbake.
Nick told News Of The Area that “the invaluable ongoing support of donations, both financial and goods and services, allowed the event to be held.”
2AirFM volunteers took lunch registrations, and Michael attended on Christmas Day to play music, emcee the event and announce the lucky door prizes.
Entertainer Laurent, who came on board last year, attended again and sang Christmas carols and other songs, entertaining the guests.
This year highlighted the impact the rising cost of living is having on those most vulnerable.
