THE COFFS Coast is set to become a mecca for rugby lovers next week.
The Coffs Coast Festival of Rugby will be held over a week-long celebration of the game they play in heaven, culminating in international teams playing off at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium.
The Australian Under 20s and Japan Under 23s teams face off while the Fiji Under 20s side takes on the Australian Stockman, in a huge day of international rugby on Saturday, 11 April at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium.
The international teams will also face off in Grafton and Kempsey prior to meeting in Coffs Harbour.
The Coffs Coast Festival of Rugby will also feature the Coffs Coast Rugby Challenge, bringing junior teams from across the state together in a festival-style format.
The Northern NSW Champions Challenge will also feature in a showcase of the region’s senior clubs, while the Inter-Zone WXV Gala XV-a-side competition will provide a vital development opportunity for women’s rugby.
A Golden Oldies competition will also see past players return to the field in a true social celebration of rugby.
The Coffs Coast Festival of Rugby gets underway on Easter Monday with a welcome event for the Australian and Japanese teams at Brelsford Park, with a free community BBQ from 10am.
A Corporate Golf Day is being held on Thursday, 9 April at Bonville Golf Resort, with a Rugby Legends Lunch being held on Friday, 10 April at C.ex Coffs.
