WITH this year’s State of Origin series underway, Coffs Harbour is set to host a New South Wales vs Queensland showdown of its own.
The 2025 State of Origin Touch Series will be decided on Friday, 20 June, and Saturday, 21 June at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium.
New South Wales and Queensland teams will face off in a best of three format across the 18 divisions.
NSW Touch Association General Manager Dean Russell said Coffs Harbour would be the perfect setting for such an iconic showdown.
“We are thrilled to bring the 2025 State of Origin series to Coffs Harbour, a town with such strong ties to the sport and a history of hosting exceptional events,” he said.
“CEX Stadium will provide the perfect setting for this iconic showdown, and we can’t wait to see the best players from NSW and Queensland competing in what promises to be an unforgettable series.
“The passion of the fans and the energy of this venue will make for an incredible experience for everyone involved.”
Coffs Harbour City Council Mayor Nikki Williams said the C.ex Coffs International Stadium would provide both a great playing and spectator experience.
“We have become a natural home for touch football and are delighted to be chosen to host this year’s State of Origin series,” she said.
“The C.ex Coffs International Stadium is engineered for excellence with a superior playing surface and premier spectator experience.
“Add the central location nestled alongside our renowned sweeping beaches and it’s a winner for the Origin players, officials and supporters.”
