FOUR long-serving members of the Coffs Harbour branch of the United Hospital Auxiliary (UHA), known fondly as the Pink Ladies, have recently been bestowed life membership in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
Pink Ladies President Helen Mears OAM and UHA North Eastern Regional Representative Dee Hunter proudly presented Beryl Bracken, Val Ide, Lorraine Partland and Jenny Hallett with their Branch Life Membership badges and certificates, recognising their exceptional dedication and service.
To earn the honour of branch life membership, each recipient has devoted more than 15 years of continuous, exceptional service to the UHA.
This milestone is not just about time but reflects a lifetime of care, generosity and commitment to supporting local health services and improving patient experiences.
These members are the heart of the branch, dedicated, respected and always ready to lend a hand.
They have tirelessly contributed through fundraising, participated in countless activities and championed the Branch within the community.
Their leadership, teamwork and unwavering adherence to UHA values shine through in everything they do.
Their organisational skills and steadfast commitment have earned them admiration and gratitude from all who know them.
Beryl Bracken has volunteered as a Pink Lady for more than a quarter of a century, after working as a School Canteen Manager for many years at Orara High School.
“Since becoming a Pink Lady I have learned to be a barista among many other skills,” she told News Of The Area.
What makes her day is meeting up with other Pink Ladies and the camaraderie of working with both Pink Ladies and Cafe staff and making lifelong friendships.
Being a Pink Lady is “very rewarding, definitely fun and can be tiring at times however I love it.
“I encourage all the ladies – and gentlemen – out there to join and enjoy volunteering as much as I do.”
Mrs Mears expressed her gratitude to the four members who have given so much of their time and energy to the Coffs Harbour UHA branch.
“Their efforts have made a real difference to our community, and this recognition is well deserved,” she said.
The UHA continues to play a vital role in supporting hospitals and health facilities across NSW and the Coffs Harbour branch is proud to honour those who exemplify its values of service and care.
