Northern Region policeman faces court

A NORTHERN Region police officer will face court over alleged illegal computer access.

The 31-year-old male constable, who is attached to a command in the Northern Region, is alleged to have accessed the police computer system for non-work-related matters.

Following extensive inquiries, a Future Court Attendance Notice was served on the officer on 4 June for the offence of access/modify restricted data held in computer.

He is due to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday 12 August 2026.

The officer remains in the workplace.
