Orara High School students and Park Beach Junior League members take out State Schools championships

ORARA High School students have taken out the prestigious NSW Schools State Bowls Championships in the State School Finals held in Sydney last week.

The players representing Orara High were all members of the Park Beach Junior League program.

Nate Daley, Ethan Henicke and Connor Daley (Skip) beat all comers from around the state before taking on Normanhurst Boys High School in the final.

Normanhurst received silver and Parkes Christian School from Central Western NSW picked up the bronze medal.

The final, which was played at Merrylands Bowling Club, was an exciting two-set match, with the Orara team backing their skills and staying calm under pressure to take out the championship in straight sets.

The team members were presented with the State Cup and medals from World No. 1 bowler Corey Wedlock, himself a former North Coast bowler.

Also present to support his old club mates was Joey Clarke, the current World under-25 Champion and a former Park Beach Junior himself.
