Coffs to host National Youth Championships

COFFS Harbour will host the Touch Football National Youth Championships (NYC) for a third straight year.

Touch Football Australia confirmed that the 2026 titles will be held from Monday 28 September to Thursday 1 October, at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

It will be the third straight year the NYC will be held in Coffs Harbour, extending Touch Football Australia’s strong

partnership with the region, and contributing more than $5 million in economic benefit to the NSW and Coffs Harbour economy each year.

Coffs Coast junior players will feature in Northern Eagles representative teams.

The NYC is one of two flagship events on the national Touch Football calendar, alongside the senior championships, and continues to play a key role in the sport’s development and talent pathway for junior participants.

Touch Football Australia Chief Executive Officer Marcus Ashcroft said Coffs Harbour had become a fantastic home for the event.

“The NYC plays such a key role in our sport’s pathways, and we’re grateful for the continued support from Destination NSW and City of Coffs Harbour in what has become a fantastic home for the event,” he said.

“We’re excited to once again showcase the next generation of Touch Football talent on the national stage,

and the exceptional facilities and hospitality in Coffs Harbour ensure our participants continue to enjoy a

positive experience.”

City of Coffs Harbour Mayor Nikki Williams said it would be a chance for locals to watch rising stars of the game.

“This is a premier event and one of the most loved on the calendar,” she said.

“For locals, it’s an opportunity to see some of the rising stars in action while the players, officials, families, and supporters get to enjoy a regional city with magnificent sweeping beaches right on the doorstep.

“The C.ex Coffs International Stadium-anchored sports precinct enables this mass-participation gala to be

held at the one venue in a laidback family-friendly city where it’s easy to get around and catch the sights.”
