A Weekend of Icons and Trailblazers at The City of Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Memorial Theatre

THE City of Coffs Harbour’s Jetty Memorial Theatre is getting set for a big weekend of music, storytelling and extraordinary artistic legacy this September, with two very different performances celebrating artists who mastered their craft and left an enduring mark on audiences.

On Friday 4 September at 7.30pm, classical musicians the Streeton Trio present Women Who Dared, a powerful program celebrating four extraordinary composers whose creativity and determination helped shape the classical music world.

Fanny Mendelssohn, Kelly-Marie Murphy, Elena Kats-Chernin and Clara Schumann each forged their own artistic paths, creating music that continues to resonate across generations.

Performed by Emma Jardine on violin, Minah Choe on cello and Ying Ho on piano, the program moves from passionate Romantic masterpieces to powerful contemporary works, showcasing composers who challenged convention and took their art to extraordinary heights.

Then on Saturday 5 September, the golden age of Australian television comes to life with I Love Your Faces: The Don Lane Story, presented by Don Lane’s son, acclaimed performer PJ Lane.

With performances at 3pm and 7pm, this extraordinary production goes beyond a traditional tribute, offering a moving and entertaining glimpse into the life of one of Australia’s most beloved television personalities.

Combining heartfelt storytelling with a sensational live band, glamorous showgirls and powerhouse vocals, I Love Your Faces captures the energy and spectacle of classic variety television while revealing the man behind the famous smile.

It is a celebration of family, resilience, showmanship and a remarkable career that helped shape Australian entertainment.

From the intimacy of chamber music to the dazzling spectacle of classic television, it’s a weekend celebrating extraordinary artists, unforgettable music and the legacies they leave behind.
