THE AUSTRALIAN Junior Oztag Championships that were scheduled to be held in Coffs Harbour from Friday, 30 October, to Sunday, 1 November have been cancelled.
The recent wet weather across the Coffs Coast has severely impacted the playing fields leaving the majority of them unplayable, resulting in Australian Oztag having to cancel the event in Coffs Harbour.
The decision was made after extensive talks between the City of Coffs Harbour, C.ex Coffs International Stadium management, ground staff, and Australian Oztag management.
This year’s Championships have now been rescheduled to take place in Sydney, from Friday, 27 November, to Sunday, 29 November.
In a statement, Australian Oztag said it was “disappointed to relocate the Championships from the historic home of Australian Oztag in Coffs Harbour and acknowledges that this change presents significant challenges for players, families, coaches, officials and regional associations.
“We recognise that many families have already committed to travel and accommodation arrangements in Coffs Harbour and understand the inconvenience this situation has caused.”
