Living Well Expo coming to Coffs Showground

THE Coffs Harbour Living Well Expo on Wednesday 13 May will focus on helping people live their best lives by connecting them with essential services and support.

The Expo, to be held at the Coffs Harbour Showground from 10am to 2pm, provides valuable information for older adults, people living with disability, and their families and carers, and showcases a wide range of health, recreational, educational and social support services across the region.

More than 60 diverse stallholders will provide activities centred on staying active in gentle ways, as well as technology support, health check-ups and promoting understanding of different disabilities.

Sector Support and Development Officer for Blue Sky Community Services, Tessa Douglas, told News Of The Area, “We have a variety of friendly stallholders, interactive activities, information sessions and giveaways, all aimed at supporting older adults and those living with disabilities to live happy, healthy, connected lives.

“We know that coming and speaking to services in one place can often be incredibly supportive and helpful for attendees in making decisions for their futures and understanding what types of support are available to them.”

Occupational Therapy (OT) students from the Southern Cross University Health Clinic will host an interactive and engaging session sharing what they do, who they can see through the clinic, and what working with an OT might look like in the home.

Another offering is a YogaCise session with Rani Foreman, a passionate facilitator who blends her background in Exercise Physiology and Yoga Therapy to create inclusive, uplifting movement experiences.

Through YogaCise, Rani brings together the science of safe, effective exercise, with the wisdom of yoga – supporting strength, balance, mobility, and deep rest.

A Pickle Ball Come and Try session will also be hosted by Allan from Harbour Tennis and Pickleball at Westside.
