First Mayoral Ball raises almost $66k for Coffs’ Kids Charity

THE city’s first Mayoral Ball took place at Pacific Bay Resort on Saturday night raising almost $66,000 for the “Coffs Kids Charity”.

With 270 people from the Coffs Coast supporting the event, the ball is anticipated to become the region’s social event of the year.

Hosted by MC Brad Daymond and led by Mayor Nikki Williams, the evening welcomed special guests including Federal MP Pat Conaghan, State MP Gurmesh Singh, City of Coffs Harbour councillors Cath Fowler, Les Oxford, Julie Sechi, Gurminder Saro and George Cecato, along with other community leaders.

Guests enjoyed dancing and generosity; raising an impressive $60,439.62 on the night, with a further $5380 contributed through the Coffs Cup Golf Day and Calcutta.

This brings the total funds raised for Coffs Kids Charity to $65,819.62, of which 100 percent stays local.

Funds raised will be directed to services within the Mid North Coast Local Health District, ensuring children and families in the Coffs Coast region have access to the vital health and community support they need, close to home.

Cr Williams said the Ball was a proud moment for the city, “Saturday night was pure Coffs Harbour at its best – full of energy, dancing, positivity and incredible generosity.

“The way our community rallied behind Coffs Kids Charity was inspiring.”

Coffs Kids Charity is a community-facing brand operating under the Trustee for the C.ex Community Crew Foundation.

It is a registered charity and all funds raised are managed within the Trustee’s charitable framework.

The money is used solely to support children’s health and wellbeing services across the Coffs Coast.
