Tamara-Anna Cislowska to appear in concert in Coffs

ARIA-winning pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska will perform at the Coffs Harbour Music Society concert on Saturday 16 May in the St John Paul College Theatre.

Ms Cislowska, a well-known presenter for the ABC Classic’s Duet program, will explore composers that have shaped her life, including Bach, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Debussy and her friend and colleague Elena Kats-Chernin.

“This is a not-to-be-missed concert,” said Music Society President Dr Leigh Summers.

“We are so fortunate to have a pianist of such national and international renown here for one night only.”

Beginning her stellar career at eight-years-old, when she gave her first orchestral performance, she is now a superstar soloist, composer and music director who performs with major Australian and international orchestras.

As a highly sought-after chamber musician, she has performed with artists including sopranos Dawn Upshaw and Greta Bradman, flautist Sharon Bezaly, tenor Kenneth Tarver and baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes.

“Many of our audience members are already avid fans of Tamara-Anna’s ABC Classic FM Radio show, Duet, and enjoy her work as a presenter on ABC Classic FM,” Ms Summers said.

Prior to the musical performance, Tamara-Anna and the Music Society’s Vice President, musician/ composer Robert Smallwood, will share an armchair discussion of her program, bringing the audience closer to the performer.
